It’s the age-old business conundrum and a conundrum that becomes all the more important when budgets are squeezed.  Which is more important, sales or marketing?

The answer depends on who you ask, Journey Beyond’s Justine Lally and Alicia Triggs say.

Journey Beyond is an experiential tourism group that connects adventure-seekers with Australia’s most iconic experiences.

“When sales fall short, marketing blames sales for the inadequate execution and conversion on an otherwise brilliant campaign,” they explain.

Meanwhile, salespeople can become frustrated with marketing campaigns prioritise brand over product.

The conflict is unfortunate when we consider that sales and marketing have the potential to be each other’s best friends.

So how can they work together? If anyone is qualified to answer that question it’s Lally and Triggs.

Lally is the marketing and product manager at Journey Beyond, whilst Alicia Triggs heads the sales team.

Not only do the duo not hate each other, but they like each other so much they are sharing a stage at our upcoming Travel DAZE Exec conference in Cairns.

In their segment, they will be talking about the benefits of teams working collaboratively, because, as they point out “a rising tide lifts all boats”.

To watch their session and more buy your tickets now for Travel DAZE Exex, Australia’s leading forum for the most influential minds in the industry.

Tackling an array of hot-button issues, Travel DAZE Exec brings together leading names to look at how we can propel the industry forward.

You’ll have the chance to hear from award-winning journalists, travel industry pioneers, authors, public figures, influencers, entrepreneurs, musicians, artists, and much more.
