Cathay launches new campaign

Cathay Pacific has launched HK24 – its latest campaign to boost inbound tourism to Hong Kong. The campaign will initially be rolled out in three key international markets – Australia, the United States and Singapore – and will provide travellers with great savings on hotel accommodation, ground transfers and dining.

As Hong Kong’s home airline, Cathay Pacific is dedicated to promoting the city across its global international network in order to enhance Hong Kong’s reputation as one of the world’s greatest travel destinations. The airline, which has served the people of Hong Kong for more than seven decades, is also a prominent supporter of Hong Kong’s most prominent international events, including the International Chinese New Year Night Parade, the Hong Kong Sevens and the Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival.

By arranging a package through the HK24 promotion, travellers can enjoy an extra 24 hours’ stay in Hong Kong with the compliments of Cathay Pacific, in addition to taking advantage of the airline’s unrivalled flight frequency to the city and its superior inflight products and services.

Travellers booking a minimum stay of three nights (from Australia and the United States) or two nights (from Singapore) with selected hotel partners through the Cathay Pacific website will receive one night’s free stay courtesy of the airline, in addition to a free roundtrip Airport Express train ticket from Hong Kong International Airport to Hong Kong Station, a day’s complimentary pocket Wi-Fi and significant dining discounts at participating restaurants.

Bookings for the HK24 promotion are now open for travel between 18 April and 30 June 2017.

Qantas to codeshare on LATAM’s new Melbourne to Santiago service

Qantas customers can now book a codeshare ticket on LATAM’s upcoming direct Melbourne – Santiago service. The new service begins 6 October 2017 and gives Australians another option to fly non-stop to Santiago, a popular city for travellers to Chile and a gateway to South America. Qantas Frequent Flyers also have the opportunity to earn status credits and Qantas points as well as burn points on the route.

LATAM’s new service will and operate three times per week and complement Qantas’ direct SYD-SCL service and LATAM’s SYD-AKL-SCL services. Tickets are on sale today.

Cathay Pacific Launch Economy Class Sale

The economy Class sale is available to over 80 destinations and is running from 23 March to 24 April 2017.Available for travel from 1 May to 30 November 2017, fares start from just $675* return to Asia and $1,331* return to Europe, and will let travellers explore some of China, Asia, Europe and North America’s best destination for less.
Sale destinations include flights from Sydney to Hong Kong for $745, Melbourne to London Gatwick for $1446, Perth to Amsterdam for $1331 and Brisbane to New York JFK for $1426.

Emirates launch Dubai to Nice daily service

Commencing 1 July 2017, Emirates will run a daily A380 service to Nice from its hub in Dubai. The move will increase passenger capacity by 44% on the route, and will provide a seamless A380 connection from Sydney. With 3633 weekly seats in each direction, Emirates will offer more seats to the Middle East and beyond than any other international airline. 

Emirates is also working with Monacair to offer helicopter transfers between Nice Airport and Monaco, including a limousine service from Monaco’s heliport to their final destination.

250,000 flights added to new Munich Airport Summer Timetable

Commencing March 26, Munich Airport’s new summer timetable will come into effect. The airlines have scheduled a total of 250,000 flights to 238 destinations in 68 countries.

In addition to 17 German airports and 171 medium-range routes, scheduled services will be available to 50 intercontinental destinations. The summer period will end on Saturday October 28 2017.

The Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will have four aircrafts stationed at Munich Airport to serve 31 attractive European destinations, above all in Italy, Greece and Croatia.

Advanced seat reservations is now available through the Amadeus distribution channel, allowing travellers to select their seat at the time of purchase. Emirates is also able to add new and exciting services to its catalogue, so travel agents can serve their customers’ broadest needs and add even further value to their overall travel journey.

Emirates now has the tools to differentiate its brand, maximise sales and engage with travellers and travel agents in new and innovative ways through the world’s largest and most diverse travel community.

Currently, Amadeus Airline Ancillary Services has been implemented for 91 airlines in the Amadeus distribution channel, with a total of 128 airlines signed-up to the industry-leading solution. It has been delivering real results for airlines, travel agents and travellers, with a 70% increase in ancillaries sold during 2016.
