From the believable to the downright ridiculous, here are the best of the best April Fool’s pranks pulled by some of our fave travel companies! Be warned, you might get the giggles.

Virgin Australia launches Spin Class

Virgin Australia Spin Class 1

Virgin Australia today launched Spin Class, the World’s first in-flight cycling studio, allowing passengers to stretch their legs and exercise on board during long haul international flights. The revolutionary new cabin class has been developed in partnership with Virgin Active and features spin classes designed specifically for cycling in the air.

Guests are able to select Spin Class at the time of booking their long haul international flight, and can also select their preferred Spin Class and time as an optional extra, free of charge. Spin Class guests will receive specially designed Virgin Australia active wear and cycling cleats.

Once each class is in session, guests can earn Velocity Points for every kilometre they cycle, as well as carbon offsetting their flights along the way. Exclusive in-flight change rooms are available to ensure Spin Class guests can feel refreshed and revitalised for the rest of their flight.

A chance to walk the wire

P&O Cruises is offering the thrill-seeking activity of a lifetime with the launch of ‘Walk the Wire’ — the world’s first tightrope walk between two cruise ships as they glide side-by-side on the Pacific Ocean.

Guests with a passion for the high life can take part in the ultimate balancing act – a 30 metre walk from the top deck of Pacific Aria to sister ship Pacific Eden whilst 40 metres high above the sea.

The high-octane event is available for a select number of guests on exclusive P&O cruises. More than 3000 guests onboard the two ships will have the opportunity to witness the spectacle as they cruise off the Queensland coast.

Contiki’s Iconic French Chateau is up for sale and you can buy it

2463EURS2018

Global leaders in youth travel, Contiki, announced its famous Chateau de Cruixin France’s Beaujolais wine region has been placed on the market.

The sprawling 16th century mansion has been visited by travellers since 1977 and features 25 bedrooms, five bathrooms, a secret party cave, hectares of land overlooking wineries and a large outdoor pool.

It’s in immaculate condition with many of the original features remaining or lovingly restored. And all this grandeur can be yours (well if you’re fortunate enough to have a spare few million lying around).

The property is currently accepting offers and you can view the full listing HERE.

Barrier Reef campaign revealed

This campaign is bound to generate its fair share of controversy. Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au today revealed the completion of their latest advertising campaign situated on Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef in Queensland. Using state of the art technology, the bookie has lasered into the actual coral of the reef to reveal SPORTSBET and the sight is even visible from space.

The project began exactly one year ago and took a year to complete using high voltage lasers imported from North Korea.

Have a hassle-free holiday

We all love to go on holiday but let’s face it, travelling can mostly be a drag. There’s the lengthy airport queues, delays, cramped seats and shocking plane food.

Then when you arrive at your destination there’s the battle against the selfie-stick wielding tourists in humid weather.

Say hello to Virtual Holidays, the first fully immersive Virtual Reality trip. The brainchild of leading travel search engine KAYAK, the virtual reality headset lets travellers experience a fully immersive holiday from the comfort of their own home.

The headsets will be available online at KAYAK.com.au from April 1.
