Bobby Hale has stepped down as head of sales, APAC at Global Touring to take up a new role as general manager of travel services at Wave Hospitality Group.
Hale confirmed on LinkedIn that he will commence the role next week, overseeing three businesses: Omnicare Holidays, Spacifica Travel and Norfolk Island Travel Centre.
“Last week I finished up with my time at Topdeck Travel and Back-Roads Touring after a couple of years of adventures selling some amazing brands and working with incredible people,” Hale wrote.

“I’m super excited to say that next week I start my new position as general manager of travel services for the Wave Hospitality Group. This amazing new role will have me overseeing three incredible businesses.
“I’m super excited to be moving into my first GM role and excited for the opportunity to be the custodian of these brands and help shape their next chapter.”
Hale joined Global Touring in September 2024 as head of sales for APAC, succeeding David Gendle following his planned retirement. The business is the parent company of Topdeck Travel and Back-Roads Touring.
He previously served as head of sales, Southern Hemisphere at On the Go Tours, where he played a key role in rebuilding the team post-pandemic. With more than 13 years’ experience across sales, retail, product development and commercial strategy, Hale’s career has included roles at Flight Centre Travel Group and On Track Expeditions, as well as founding Hale Travel & Events between 2019 and 2022.
The move marks a return to a broader operational leadership remit, with responsibility spanning touring, retail and destination travel services focused on Norfolk Island and the South Pacific.
