Booking.com has today announced the launch of the ‘Cosmic Cabin’, an exclusive two-night stay under the upcoming Eta Aquariid Meteor Shower.

The bookable experience will take place in a remote homestay on the Tasman Peninsula and is to be hosted by ex-Bachelor and astrophysicist Dr Matt Agnew.

The stay, costing $18.78 (the year of Eta Aquariid’s discovery) will be bookable on a first-come, first-served basis on 17 April at 12pm AEST for one Booking.com Genius traveller and one guest.

Over 5-7 May (coinciding with the peak of the celestial display) the two lucky winners will be guided by Dr Matt as they marvel at the wonders of the universe from Booking.com’s ‘Cosmic Cabin’.

Along with the two-night stay, the pair will have their pick of plenty of local premium Tassie produce.

The cabin comes after Booking.com’s 2025 Travel Predictions revealed Aussie travellers are turning to the skies to escape the chaos of modern life. Noctourism – travelling to experience the beauty of unpolluted night skies – is on the rise, with over half (57 per cent) of Australians planning a visit to a dark sky destination this year.
