Travellers are experiencing major delays at airports across Australia following an IT outage affecting passenger processing.
The Australian Border Force (ABF) has confirmed to Travel Weekly Australia its service provider which manages the Advanced Passenger Processing systems (APP) is experiencing an IT outage.
“The system outage is affecting the APP in all international check-in points. We are working with the service provider to assist with resolving the matter urgently.
The ABF will revert to manual processing of passengers where applicable,” A spokesperson from the Australian Border Force said.
Its understood extra staff from the ABF have been brought in to assist in processing passengers.
The delays comes just over a week since Sydney International Airport experienced extensive delays due to strong winds.
