The CEO of Star Entertainment Group, Matt Bekier has handed in his resignation, taking “responsibility” as misconduct investigations continue.
Bekier’s decision follows investigations into potential breaches of anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism laws at the group’s casinos.
In a statement, Star Entertainment said Bekier informed the board that he was accountable for the effectiveness and adequacy of the company’s processes, policies. people and culture.
Bekier’s resignation will be effective immediately, though he will work with the board to transition his executive responsibilities.
