Intrepid’s managing director Brett Mitchell and Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Lisa Pile have been appointed to the inaugural Advisory Board of Tourism and Events Northern Territory, joining a newly formed team set to help guide the future of the Territory’s visitor economy.
The Advisory Board was announced by Northern Territory Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and Major Events, Marie-Clare Boothby, and brings together a mix of Territorians and interstate experts with deep experience across tourism, events and the broader visitor economy.
Alongside Mitchell and Pile, the inaugural board includes Amy Hill, Hayley Richards, Paul Ah Chee, Penny Priest GAICD, Tim McColl Jones and Suzana Bishop EMBA GAICD. Mr Ah Chee has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board.
Tourism and Events Northern Territory said the group’s breadth of expertise will provide valuable local, national and international perspectives as it works to strengthen and grow the Territory’s visitor economy.
The appointments follow an extensive selection process, with more than 50 nominations received from high-calibre professionals, highlighting strong interest in contributing to the future of tourism in the Northern Territory.
In total, 21 nominations were received from within the Territory, with a further 33 coming from interstate and overseas.
