A British Airways flight from Barbados to London was cancelled after a number of crew members were unable to operate the service following an incident at their hotel.
Up to 336 passengers were stranded in Bridgetown, Barbados, due to the sudden cancellation.
At least two crew members became unwell after drinking at the hotel bar the night before departure. One staff member reportedly vomited at the bar whilst another collapsed and needed to be taken to their room.
Guests at the all-inclusive resort reportedly began filming the group, later learning they were British Airways staff.
Four crew members have been suspended following the incident, which took place at a resort costing around AU$965 a night.
The flight, BA254, had been due to depart Barbados at 4:40pm on Sunday and arrive in the UK at 6:20am on Monday. The affected crew were sent home on passenger flights over the following days.
A British Airways spokesperson said: “We expect the highest standards of our crew, and are urgently investigating this matter,” according to The Sun.
