Fiji tourism operators are leading the charge of sellers at the upcoming South Pacific Tourism Exchange 2015.

Some 20 Fijian operators have already registered for the Melbourne event on the 19-20 June, representing 30% of the total number of registered sellers from Pacific Island countries, which currently stands at 60 and is a quarter of the targeted 80 Sellers.

South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) chief executive Ilisoni Vuidreketi said the large contingent is indicative of the confidence the Fiji industry partners have in the return of investment from SPTE 2015.

“Fiji holds a strong share of the South Pacific tourism market and having these operators at our event will add value and confidence to what is the region’s premier tourism exchange”, Vuidreketi stated.

“We also have great support from other Sellers in the region as well as a diverse range of international buyers from around the world.”

“The SPTE offers a great opportunity as well for our Pacific Island members to meet, network and do business with Australian and New Zealand buyers who will also be attending the Australian Tourism Exchange, as these two countries are our strongest source markets”, Vuidreketi said.

“We expect the number of Fijian and Pacific Island seller registrations to rise as we get closer to the event as queries into registrations continue to pour in.”

SPTE 2015 Buyer registrations have been extended to Friday 10th April 2015.
