Bunnik Tours has unveiled its 2027 South America program, featuring seven culturally immersive itineraries across its Classic and In-Style ranges.

The 2027 season reflects continued strong demand from Australian travellers for more meaningful, experience-led journeys, where iconic landmarks are complemented by deeper cultural connection, off-the-beaten-path experiences and a slower, more considered style of travel.

From the ancient wonders of Machu Picchu to the rhythm of Rio, the program brings together the colour, culture and contrasts that define this captivating region. Travellers journey into the Amazon, witness the thunder of Iguazu Falls and enjoy authentic, locally-led experiences designed to create genuine connection.

Bunnik Tours’ premium In-Style range continues to grow in popularity, with South America In-Style and Peru In-Style offering elevated travel through handpicked luxury accommodation, including stays such as the Belmond Das Cataratas hotel at Iguazu Falls, alongside deluxe experiences like two nights aboard the opulent Belmond Andean Explorer train from Cusco to Puno.

The program also showcases Bunnik Tours’ signature Discovery range, crafted for travellers wanting a deeper dive into each destination. These longer itineraries venture beyond the expected, with experiences that uncover lesser-visited regions. Notably, Bunnik Tours remains one of the few small group operators to include mainland Ecuador, featured in journeys such as South American Discovery and Peru & Ecuador Discovery, where travellers explore volcanic landscapes, thermal springs and vibrant cultural communities.

The 2027 program also includes two departures timed to coincide with Peru’s vibrant Inti Raymi festival, featured on both the South American Explorer and Peru Explorer tours.

South America itinerary highlights

  • 35-day South American Discovery – Discover the full sweep of South America from the Amazon to the Andes, with time in mainland Ecuador, Peru, Argentina and Brazil, plus day trips into Bolivia and Uruguay.
  • 27-day Peru & Ecuador Discovery – Explore two of South America’s most diverse countries, from the volcanoes and hot springs of Ecuador to Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca – including both the Peruvian and Bolivian sides.
  • 28-day South American Explorer – Immerse in the Amazon from the quaint town of Puerto Maldonado, explore the Sacred Valley, experience the stunning Iguazu Falls and soak up the energy of Buenos Aires and Rio.
  • 20-day Peru Explorer – Experience the wonders of Peru including Lima, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, and the Amazon, with a special departure for vibrant Inti Raymi – a spectacular celebration of Incan heritage and culture in the heart of Cusco.
  • 23-day Highlights of South America – Experience the continent’s icons – Rio, Iguazu Falls, Machu Picchu and more – with enriching cultural encounters and unique local touches, like learning to craft Peru’s signature Pisco Sour and joining traditional Andean activities. This tour also explores Peru’s coast, with a flight over the mysterious Nazca Lines and a cruise to the wildlife-rich Ballestas Islands – experiences not included on any other itinerary.
  • 26-day South America In-Style – Travel in five-star comfort across Peru, Argentina and Brazil, with unforgettable moments aboard the Belmond Hiram Bingham and Andean Explorer trains.
  • 17-day Peru In-Style – Delight in Peru’s luxurious side with boutique hotels, gourmet cuisine and exclusive rail experiences to Machu Picchu and Puno.

All tours operate with a maximum of 20 guests (just 16 on In-Style departures), ensuring a more personal travel experience, with expert local guides and thoughtfully curated inclusions throughout.

“South & Central America continues to surprise and inspire, even for well-travelled Australians,” Bunnik Tours joint-CEO Dennis Bunnik said. “Our 2027 program blends iconic sights with lesser-known experiences, offering a richer, more immersive way to explore the region – all delivered in the small group style we’re known for.”
