Jetsetters travelling from Perth will experience a new benchmark in business travel, with the launch of the new Qantas Domestic Business Lounge.
This development completes Qantas’ suite of domestic lounges at Perth Airport, which already operates a Chairman’s Lounge and Qantas Club.
Qantas Domestic ceo, Andrew David said that the development offered a glimpse into the future of Qantas Business Lounge in Australia.
“The lounge has been designed with our most frequent travellers from WA in mind. It accommodates the mix of corporate, leisure and fly-in fly-out workers with business facilities, a sports lounge to relax and socialise, and dining areas with single and communal seating,” said David.
He also said that it demonstrated Qantas’ commitment to WA, with more efficient security screening, check in and gate access.
“We’ve recommenced direct services to Singapore, we are developing our dedicated airport precinct and within the next six months the majority of our East-West flights will be operated by a reconfigured A330.”
The Business Lounge features an almost 50 per cent increased space, with seating for over 350 people and distinct zones for dining, working and relaxing.
The Woods Bagot design draws architectural inspiration from the local landscape. Terracotta and metallic colour palettes recalling iconic WA destinations like Margaret River, Matilda Bay, Wave Rock and Broome.
The space will feature a Neil Perry-designed menu, and premiere two new Qantas Business Lounge dining concepts – a state of the art Italian pizza bar, and a wine bar featuring barista-made coffee in the morning.
Perth-born model-actress and frequent jetsetter, Megan Gale spoke at the launch party.
“I love the local design influences, it’s so nice to walk into something that feels like home,” she said.
