Cairns Discovery Tours has undergone a complete digital transformation, blending cutting-edge AI technology with more than 30 years of local expertise.
In partnership with Queensland travel tech company Traveloris, Maryanna Jacques has remodelled her business from an on-the-ground tour provider to an online booking portal driven by an AI-powered trip planning service.
The shift has allowed Cairns Discovery Tours to expand well beyond its original scope.
Since launching the platform, the company has experienced a 20 per cent increase in revenue, a 70 per cent reduction in admin-related tasks and an 85 per cent booking flow continuation rate.
Jacques said that the transformation ultimately focused on delivering a better experience for clients in Cairns and the great Barrier Reef region.
“The numbers speak for themselves, but what matters most to me is that visitors are getting a better Cairns experience,” she said.
“They can plan their whole trip with local guidance and book everything in one place. That’s what this evolution has been about.”
The upgraded platform combines AI powered trip planning with real-time bookability, something Jacques says general AI tools simply can’t replicate.
“AI is changing how people discover destinations, but travellers still want trusted local expertise and the ability to book experiences instantly in one place,” she said.
Transforming travel bookings
Traveloris founder Daniel Blickling said the launch was part of a wider industry transformation.
“AI is becoming the new front door to travel discovery,” Blickling said. “The tourism operators who succeed will be the ones combining AI with genuine local expertise and seamless booking experiences. Cairns Discovery Tours is doing exactly that.”
