CALLING ALL YOUTH TRAVEL PROVIDERS: Join Tourism Australia at WYSTC!

Australia is gracing the world’s largest youth and student travel show – World Youth and Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) – with its biggest ever presence in September!

The conference, which is now in its 27th year and will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, from 18 to 21 September 2018, will see Tourism Australia boost its presence with a dedicated ‘Australia Village’ as a Platinum Sponsor of the event.

Off the back of its latest global youth campaign – Aussie News Today – Tourism Australia is bringing together its largest-ever contingent of Australian youth product operators, with 30 plus businesses currently registered to participate in WYSTC this year.

Participating Australian youth tourism folk confirmed to attend include accommodation providers, tour operators, and attractions.

And guess what?! With Australia taking a larger floor space at WYSTC this year there are still places available for other youth operators interested in being part of the ‘Australia Village’!

Tourism Australia Managing Director John O’Sullivan said participating in WYTSC would help to boost awareness of Australia’s youth travel offering internationally.

“The youth travel market remains an important part of Australia’s visitor economy, with 15 to 29-year olds accounting for one quarter of all international visitor arrivals to Australia but significantly contributing more than 46 per cent of international visitor expenditure,” O’Sullivan said.

“That’s why we launched a dedicated global youth campaign in October last year to make Australia more attractive for young people to undertake an extended working holiday in our great country – and our presence at WYSTC this year is set to build on this further.”

Australian operators who register for WYSTC will automatically be added to Tourism Australia’s ‘Australian Village’ saving operators the cost of a booth at the event, which is expected to attract more than 600 delegates.

The WYSTC program features business appointments, networking opportunities and seminars, workshops, panel discussions, and meetings with leading travel professionals covering topics and trends of relevance to the global youth and student travel industry.

Tourism Australia is also coordinating a Youth Product Roadshow, in tandem with WYSTC, which has been fully subscribed with 20 youth travel operators participating.
