Capella Hotel Group has recently concluded a successful week-long Australian travel industry roadshow across Melbourne and Sydney, engaging key trade and MICE partners and showcasing the group’s growing global portfolio.
Led by regional director of sales Australia & New Zealand Liz Rodgers, the delegation began in Melbourne with two days of meetings with travel industry partners, culminating in an exclusive dinner at The Lodge Bar & Dining by Rodd & Gunn.
The roadshow continued in Sydney with two further days of high-level engagement, providing Australian travel trade partners the opportunity to connect with representatives from Capella and Patina properties across the globe. A highlight of the Sydney program was an evening reception hosted at the newly launched The Lands by Capella, offering industry partners a first look at the precinct’s exceptional event spaces.
Held in the Liberty Ballroom, 80 travel industry guests enjoyed drinks and canapes, accompanied by a special performance from Sydney Dance Company. The duet by Morgan Hurrell and Sam Winkler, was an excerpt from Spell, a bold dance work from celebrated choreographer and Sydney Dance Company’s artistic director, Rafael Bonachela.

The roadshow concluded on Friday 20 March with a luncheon dedicated to the MICE sector, marking the first time Capella Hotel Group has hosted an event specifically for the Australian meetings and events market. The lunch highlighted the group’s exceptional meeting venues, distinctive hotels and resorts, and its expertise in crafting bespoke destination experiences.
Sixty senior industry leaders attended the event at The Lands by Capella, enjoying an elevated culinary experience while connecting with representatives from Capella and Patina properties worldwide. Guests were introduced to the precinct’s elegant event spaces, heritage architecture, and signature hospitality, offering a first-hand demonstration of the sophistication and meticulous attention to detail Capella delivers for MICE events of every scale.

Co-hosts included Capella Singapore hotel manager Johanna Dlugosch; Capella Sydney director of sales Kathy Hu; Capella Taipei general manager Dennis Laubenstein; Patina Maldives senior sales manager Farsa Saeed; and Patina Osaka director of sales and marketing Jason Lim.
The Lands by Capella reimagines Sydney’s historic 1876 Department of Lands building as a new luxury precinct within the Sandstone Precinct, adjacent to Capella Sydney. Spanning 10,000sqm, the precinct combines heritage craftsmanship, contemporary design, bespoke retail, elevated dining, curated workspaces, and versatile event spaces – offering a landmark destination for conferences, gala dinners, weddings, and private celebrations.
