Small-ship specialist Captain Cook Cruises Fiji has united with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) to help build its presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The partnership brings the Fijian operator into CLIA’s wider Australasian cruise community, made up of cruise lines from around the world as well as travel agent members from across Australia and New Zealand.

As a regional cruise line member of CLIA in Australasia, Captain Cook Cruises will take part in CLIA’s extensive travel agent training and events program, including September’s Cruise360 Australasia conference and trade show.

CLIA managing director in Australasia Joel Katz said the addition of Captain Cook Cruises Fiji helped highlight the growing significance of small-ship cruising within the global industry.

“Captain Cook Cruises has been a pioneer of cruising in Fiji for more than 25 years, taking guests to unspoilt islands and remote destinations throughout the Fijian archipelago,” Katz, said.

“Small-ship expedition cruising is one of the most dynamic and exciting areas of cruising, so we’re delighted to have Captain Cook Cruises join our community at a time when there’s so much energy and innovation in the sector.”

Captain Cook Cruises CEO Allison Haworth West said the company was pleased to be a part of CLIA Australasia as it prepared for the introduction of its new luxury expedition ship MS Caledonian Sky in November.

“We are very excited about being part of CLIA as it will provide a great opportunity for us to engage and strongly support our travel agent partners as we introduce a new level of luxury small ship expedition cruising to Fiji with MS Caledonian Sky,” Haworth West, said.

“We are looking forward to working with member agents to open up and share many previously unexplorable destinations in remote Fiji.”

With the arrival of MS Caledonian Sky in November 2023 Captain Cook Cruises Fiji will offer an elevated range of small-ship luxury expedition cruises showing guests the true essence of remote Fiji.

The cruise line’s itineraries explore some of the most beautiful islands in the South Pacific, including the previously unexplored Lau Islands, the company’s own private island Tivua, the volcanic Yasawa Islands, and Fiji’s remote Northern Islands.
