CATO’s Touring Academy has emerged as an essential platform for upskilling travel agents with over 3,500 course competitions since its launch on 1 July.

In just under four months, the Academy has quickly cemented its role as a vital tool for professional growth among agents in Australia and New Zealand.

The Academy offers a comprehensive curriculum, with mandatory modules covering the ‘What, Why, Who, and How’ of touring, 14 elective modules across various touring styles, and over 25 brand-specific training sessions – with plans to exceed 50 by year’s end.

The extensive training allows agents to enhance their expertise, ensuring they’re equipped to meet the demands of the evolving touring market.

Travel agents have praised the Academy’s engaging and informative content. “I’ve been in travel for more than 27 years, and I learned so much I didn’t know about touring,” Rosemary Spiteri from The Curated Traveller said.

Sky Gander from Tewantin Travel added: “The course was very engaging, with fantastic visuals and easy navigation. It boosted my product knowledge and clarified what to sell to whom—something I know will improve my conversion rate.”

CATO’s Brett Jardine.

Brett Jardine, CATO’s managing director, highlighted the Academy’s success, noting its high engagement and promising impact on the industry: “This interest in the Academy shows a strong trajectory for touring’s growth in today’s market. Touring sales are proving highly valuable, with agents seeing strong booking growth as a result.”

At an affordable annual subscription of $99 AUD (including GST), the CATO Touring Academy provides agents with ongoing access to the latest resources, sector news, and an expanding suite of training from CATO member brands—solidifying its place as a game-changer in travel agent development.
