Celestyal has announced that Brenton Reidy will be the cruise line’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand effective from today (November 17).

Joining Celestyal after two and a half years as a Business Development Manager for MSC Cruises, Brenton will report to Celestyal Director of Business Development Asia Pacific Jarrod Zurvas and work with Ascend Travel Group who manage trade services for Celestyal in the local market.

“I’m thrilled to announce that Brenton is joining the team and look forward to working with him to lift Celestyal’s presence in the region during a period of significant fleet and destination growth,” Zurvas said.

“With the arrival of Celestyal Discovery in the Arabian Gulf this year, alongside Celestyal Journey, both our ships will be cruising year-round for the first time and this presents myriad opportunities for growth out of Australia. As we look to double the number of guests we carry in the Gulf, this presents an exciting opportunity for key growth markets such as Australia, and Brenton will be pivotal in supporting us during this phase of rapid expansion.”

In his role, Reidy will be responsible for driving continued growth and awareness of Celestyal in Australia and New Zealand, working closely with Celestyal’s existing partners and developing new partnerships as the cruise line expands to a full year-round operation.

Reidy will be based in Adelaide and said he was looking forward to continuing the good work of Mary Williams who departed after six years to pursue other opportunities.

“It is an exciting time to join Celestyal and I am looking forward to continuing to work with industry colleagues to promote the cruise line in the region,” Reidy said.

“It’s a rare opportunity to be part of a team as it opens up a new destination in a new way and I can’t wait to start immersing in all the wonders of the Arabian Gulf as both Celestyal ships prepare to sail south for the cruise line’s first full year-round deployment in the region.

“I’m also thrilled to be onboard with the original Greek Island experts. Celestyal’s reputation as the authentic Aegean ‘insider’ is well known and I know this product is very appealing to both Aussies and Kiwis.”

Reidy has over 12 years’ experience as a business development manager including stints at Carnival Australia, Stuba and most recently at MSC Cruises.
