Planning a European summer?

Yes, we know it’s still summer here – but that doesn’t mean we can’t plan, right?

Especially when there’s a ton of brand new changes to Eurail.

And by changes, we mean discounted permanently. Seriously.

A Eurail pass gives you access to a ton of countries, making travelling through Europe more seamless and easier than ever before. And this year is Eurail’s 60th anniversary!

So, to celebrate, they’ve made a few key changes to make the passes easier to use, and easier for travel agents to sell. And who doesn’t love it when things are made easy for you?

These changes have been in effect since the first of January 2019, and we’re pretty damn excited about them. Think new pass types, new country additions and discounts of up to 37 per cent.

So what are these fabulous changes? Look no further, because we’ve got them right here:

Permanent price reduction

Eurail has permanently reduced all Global Pass fares by up to 37 per cent, with prices starting from as little as $265. That’s a hell of a deal, if you ask us.

Plus, Eurail will also introduce cheaper pricing for One Country Passes and Greek Island Passes, making the entire Eurail Pass portfolio more cost competitive. With permanent price reductions introduced across the portfolio, the Saver Pass has now been discontinued.

Eurail welcomes three new countries

Huge news! Eurail has expanded the list of countries accessible via the Eurail Global Pass up from 28 to 31, with FYR Macedonia, Lithuania and Great Britain now included.

Basically, this means that travellers heading to the UK to visit friends and family can now combine travel across Great Britain with visits to other countries in Europe via over 35 different rail and ferry operators – all with one Eurail pass.

Simplified Pass options

The range of Eurail Passes has been streamlined, making it easier for agents to choose the right one for their clients. With Global Passes now significantly cheaper, these become the best option for client’s travelling to two or more countries. As a result, Select Passes have been removed from the portfolio, to make it an easier choice between One Country Passes and Global Passes.

Three Pass types simplify travel across Europe, with the Eurail Global Pass granting travellers the flexibility to access up to 31 different countries, the Eurail One Country Pass allowing unlimited travel for single-country itineraries, and the Greek Islands Pass enabling travellers to explore up to 53 different Greek Islands.

Further discounts

Senior and youth discounts are also now available on all Eurail Passes, and kids aged 11 or under continue to travel free. Eurail has also permanently added Adult Second Class tickets to all Pass options, offering all customers the choice between First and Second Class travel.
