Brisbane’s capacity to lure sought-after Chinese tourists is in doubt after a new study found most know little or nothing about the city.
Researchers from QUT’s Business School teamed up with Taizhou Polytechnic College to ask more than 830 Chinese consumers about their perceptions of the Queensland capital, along with Hong Kong, Paris, Sydney and Rome.
The study found 57 per cent of respondents either knew very little or nothing about Brisbane, rating it the least likely holiday destination of the group.
