Choice Hotels Asia-Pac is bringing their upper midscale accommodation brand, MainStay Suites, to Australia in collaboration with Extended STAY Australasia.
This collaboration drives a major push for long-stay, flexible accommodation offerings nationwide, drawing on the deep expertise and strong reputation Extended STAY Australasia has established in the segment and region.
“Bringing MainStay Suites to Australia strengthens our presence and supports our growth strategy and international footprint,” Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO Trent Fraser said. “We’re proud to offer tailored solutions for corporate and government travellers, as well as project-based workers, providing the ability to stay for weeks, months or longer without sacrificing comfort or convenience.”
Extended STAY Australasia, led by Paul Constantinou AM, will manage operations, leveraging decades of expertise in extended stay. This collaboration brings apartment-style comfort with hotel-level convenience – fully equipped kitchens, spacious living areas, laundry facilities, and dedicated workspaces – helping guests maintain their routines with minimal interruption. Guests include Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) workers, healthcare professionals and relocating families.
“MainStay Suites is more than just a place to stay – it’s about giving guests the flexibility and comfort they need while away from home,” Constantinou said. “With our ‘Live Like Home’ experience, we’re offering long-stay travellers a convenient and comfortable alternative to traditional hotels.”
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac’s portfolio already spans midscale, upscale, and economy segments, and now extends into the growing extended stay category. All MainStay Suites properties participate in Choice Privileges, the award-winning loyalty program, enabling members to earn and redeem points at over 7,100 hotels worldwide.
For investors and developers, MainStay Suites presents a turnkey opportunity to enter the expanding extended-stay sector, suitable for new builds and conversions, backed by Choice Hotels’ infrastructure and local expertise.
MainStay Suites is now open in Australia, with plans to expand into key regional hubs and transport corridors.
