Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) will postpone its planned Cruise360 Australasia conference for 2022 to an unknown future date.

CLIA said in a statement that it wants to host the event when it has greater confidence and maximum attendance from across Australia and New Zealand.

“As a result of continued uncertainty around interstate and trans-Tasman travel, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule Cruise360 Australasia,” said CLIA Managing Director Australasia Joel Katz.

“We have taken into account concerns around attendees’ wellbeing, the ongoing business impacts of the cruise suspension, and current government restrictions on travel and events.”

The rescheduled event will again be held at the Hyatt Regency Sydney and will focus on the global recovery of the cruise sector and opportunities this will provide for travel agents and industry stakeholders.

CLIA are currently working with Hyatt Regency Sydney to secure a new date and will advise all sponsors and ticketholders as soon as possible.

Existing Cruise360 registrations will automatically be transferred to the new date.

The postponing of the event comes after CLIA released more tickets for the event and extended earlybird prices in early December last year.

The event was going to be held on Friday 4 March 2022 and would mark CLIA’s first regional in-person gathering since the beginning of the pandemic.
