Club Avandra has landed in Australia, bringing with it a bold new vision for luxury solo female travel – and a headline-making collaboration with author and comedian Kathy Lette.

The first-of-its-kind private members’ club is redefining what it means for women to travel independently. The Australian debut follows the brand’s London launch in October 2025 and signals a significant step in its global expansion.

Hosted by Lette – an acclaimed writer and long-time advocate for women’s independence – the recent launch set the tone for a movement designed for what founders describe as the “no-compromise cohort” – or SWANs (Sorted, Worldly And No sh*ts given).

Club Avandra positions itself as a sophisticated alternative to traditional solo travel, bringing together curated luxury journeys, exclusive editorial content and a global community of like-minded women, all underpinned by a commitment to female empowerment.

The timing is deliberate. With solo female travel continuing to surge, the female-led collective behind Club Avandra identified what they call a persistent “glamour gap” in the market – a lack of high-end, culturally rich experiences tailored to women seeking independence without sacrificing comfort, safety or style.

Created to close this gap, the club caters to women who expect their travel to reflect the lives they’ve built. As the brand puts it, these are women who, regardless of marital status, order from the middle of the wine list and don’t quibble over splitting the bill.

Members, known as Wander Women, gain access to bespoke luxury journeys, intimate events, private community spaces and insider travel intelligence, alongside exclusive editorial content curated by lifestyle director and former magazine editor Marianne Jones.

A standout on the inaugural programme is Galicia, Spain with Kathy Lette a witty, wine-filled adventure through Spain’s green northwest. The June 2026 departure will see just 10 guests walk sections of the Camino de Santiago, meet pioneering women winemakers and indulge in market-to-table dining experiences, all infused with Lette’s trademark humour and insight.

Priced at £5,200 (approximately AU$10,100) per person, the journey encapsulates the club’s ethos: independence paired with cultural immersion, connection and fun.

Other VIP experiences include desert nights in Jordan with global travel PR Debbie Flynn, a fashion-led Marrakesh escape with editor Jo Elvin and a wellness-focused Helsinki journey with Marja Putkitso.

Supporting the club’s wider mission, members can nominate a charity partner, with donations directed to Women in Travel CIC, The WOW Foundation or Inspiring Girls International.

As Jones explains: “Club Avandra fills a gap we’ve long known existed – for women who are done with compromise and want to discover the world stress-free, in style and solo, without feeling lonely.”

Annual membership is £400 (around AU$780), and unlocks access to curated journeys, events and lifestyle benefits, with select experiences also available to non-members.
