Community Homestay Network (CHN) is inviting Australian travel advisors to apply to join a famil trip to Nepal’s Upper Mustang region this December.
CHN’s Upper Mustang: A Trans-Himalayan Community Experience famil will take place from 5 December to 16 December, 2026. CHN will cover ground arrangements but advisors will have to shoulder the flights.
The itinerary invites advisors into one of the most remote and culturally intact corners of the Himalayan world, where ancient trade routes, living Bon traditions, and the walled medieval city of Lo Manthang tell the story of a people who have shaped their landscape as much as it has shaped them.
The 12-day journey begins in Kathmandu with a welcome dinner. The next day, the route will move through the Annapurna foothills. Travelling by 4WD vehicles along the ancient trade route once connecting Nepal and Tibet, travellers will engage with local families in Narchyang, Kagbeni, Lubra, Hemjakot and more before eventually walking the medieval streets of Lo Manthang. The journey concludes with a descent through the Kali Gandaki valley into Hemjakot.

Earlier this year, CHN introduced its first fixed departure trips for agents to sell. Eight immersive, multi-day itineraries are now on offer for guaranteed departure beginning 6 September, 2026. More than 100 multi-day departures now available to book for travel up to December 2027.
