Gold Coast Business Events has had its most successful year on record with a 46 percent increase in the value of conferences and corporate meetings won for the city.

The Gold Coast Business Events team secured almost $71 million in conferences for the twelve months to 30 June 2016, up from $48 million in the previous financial year.

Gold Coast Business Events Director Anna Case said the incredibly positive result reflects the Gold Coast’s coming of age as a destination for business events, and is a clear indication of a city in strong demand.

“Our team of professionals, in strong collaboration with our supportive industry, have worked hard to highlight the extraordinary appeal the Gold Coast delivers as a destination. Our signature blend of world class venues, stunning beaches and hinterland in a climate that’s as close to perfect as it gets is well known. What has become increasingly visible is the emerging sophistication of our cultural scene, fine food and wine and limitless diversity of offsite venue options.”

“Our team has been shouting these attributes from the rooftops and the results clearly indicate that the message is being heard,“ Case added.
