Contiki has been named ‘Brand of the Year’ at the Purpose Awards EMEA, which celebrate brands that deliver both meaningful impact and commercial results, rewarding sustained, purpose-driven work that helps shape cultures, behaviours, and communities.

Judges at the Purpose Awards, held on 6 June at The Baltimore Mayfair in London, recognised Contiki, a brand for 18-35 travellers, for its commitment to embedding purpose into its brand DNA not just through one campaign, but consistently across its global operations.

Highlights included:

  • Make Travel Matter: Contiki has mobilised thousands of young travellers into hands‑on conservation and community projects from beach cleanups to rainforest restoration demonstrating long‑term environmental impact.
  • Championing Inclusivity: With ground‑breaking initiatives such as Greek Island-Hopping Pride trips and targeted sustainability programming, Contiki is fostering greater inclusivity for all travellers.
  • Purpose + Business Results: The judges praised Contiki’s ability to link social and environmental purpose with genuine commercial growth, creating a compelling example of purpose‑led business success.

The Purpose Awards seek out brands that go beyond token gestures, embedding purpose authentically and demonstrating tangible results across both impact and brand value. Contiki’s win affirms the brand’s ongoing position as a leader in responsible, values‑led travel.

“Winning Brand of the Year is a true validation of our belief that travel can be a force for good, especially when driven by young people,” Contiki managing director, Toni Ambler, said. “This award belongs to everyone at Contiki who brings our purpose to life every day.”

Contiki remains committed to scaling its purpose-led approach, with upcoming programs focused on climate action, community empowerment, and accessible travel. Through its Make Travel Matter initiative, the brand continues to collaborate with local communities, fellow TTC brands, and purpose-driven partners to create meaningful, sustainable experiences that benefit people, planet, and wildlife now and for future generations.

“Purpose isn’t optional at Contiki, it’s central to everything we do,” Contiki European operations director & sustainability officer, Tasha Hayes, said. “From conservation projects to inclusive travel experiences, we’re proud to set the bar high and be recognised as leaders in our industry.”
