It was the year France took home the World Cup, a young Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet hit cinema screens in Titanic and Bill Clinton denied having those relations with Monica Lewinsky… but 1998 will also go down in history as the year Contiki introduced ROCK Around the World.

Now nearing its 20th anniversary, Contiki’s ensuring 2017’s trade famil will be one to remember and the exciting destination is ready to be revealed…

This year, 20 agents will be whisked away to rock out at NOS Primavera Sound in Porto, Portugal and enjoy the best that Spain and Portugal has to offer from June 3-14, 2017.

With festival headliners Bon Iver, Aphex Twins and Justice set to hit the stage at this awe-inspiring festival, Contiki is giving its 20 top selling agents the chance to enjoy three days of music at NOS Primavera Sounds.

They will then journey through Barcelona, San Sebastian, Burgos, Salamanca and Madrid to eat, see and dance their way through these amazing destinations with other agents from across the globe.

Katrina Barry, managing director of Contiki Australia, said, “Music and travel are so inextricably linked; both create memories, bring people together and trigger a whole range of emotions, and that is why ROCK Around the World proves increasingly popular, year after year.

“From seeing Bon Jovi in Dublin to R.E.M in Moscow, we’ve taken agents all over the world and this year we’re excited to announce that Spain and Portugal will be under the spotlight.

“These destinations are amongst our top sellers in Europe and we know agents will enjoy soaking up the music, sunshine and sangria in its spiritual home! This is the trade incentive of the year so I wish agents the best of luck.”

Selling period to secure a spot on Contiki’s ROCK Around the World will run from now until 31 March. Places will be comprised of 17 top sellers, announced by 15 April, and two remaining wild card entries who will be announced 3 March (selling period 30 Jan-28 Feb) and 3 April (selling period 1 March-31 March). The first wildcard winner has already been revealed.
