More than 150 guests attended the Northern Territory’s ConveNTions Walkabout ’15 roadshow, held across Australia earlier this month.

Calling at Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, the events attracted a range of professional conference organisers and event planners, as well as representatives from the corporate and association sectors.

Among the 19 NT exhibitors were convention centres, hotels and resorts, off-site venues, attractions, specialist suppliers, activity, tour and transport operators, as well as the NTCB team.

Three lucky attendees snapped up exciting NT adventure trips for two to Alice Springs, Uluru or Darwin: Jo Morgan from the Australasian Hepatology Association in Adelaide, Peta Demery from Aussie Home Loans in Sydney and Sisilia Tjandra from Australian Tours Management in Melbourne.

Beautiful hand-painted art pieces from Alice Springs-based gallery, the Talapi Art Centre, were also awarded as lucky door prizes in each city.  Winners of these unique NT artworks were Caroline Edwards from King William Travel in Adelaide, Steven Wang from New Asia Pacific Travel in Sydney and Catherine Woon from the Australian Foundation Investment Company in Melbourne.

The national roadshow enabled the Convention Bureau and the NT supplier participants to capitalise upon the strong marketplace relationships already established, and to also develop new ones.

“The ConveNTions Walkabout roadshow has very effectively brought the NT to these cities and enabled invaluable engagement with our most important marketplace,” executive director business & events for the NT Convention Bureau Suzanne Morgan said.

“The anecdotal feed-back I’ve received from planners and our exhibitor partners so far would suggest this has been one of our most successful roadshows ever. We look forward to converting this strong interest into confirmed future business for the NT.”
