Travel insurance provider Cover-More is partnering with unconnected.org to help more than 10,000 Ukrainian families stay connected and safe.
Unconnected.org is assisting people in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees outside of the country by providing private and corporate donations to make it possible for them to top up their phones.
With Cover-More now a vital part of the “Connecting Ukraine” program, thousands more mobile phones can receive credit.
Cover-More’s charitable efforts for those impacted by the war also include offering free medical online consultations, free prescriptions, and support with medical costs, in partnership with Air Doctor and Cover-More’s travel assistance business, World Travel Protection.
Cover-More Group CEO Cara Morton said the situation in Ukraine was critical and the group was grateful for the opportunity to share their expertise and resources to make a difference.
“Keeping people connected and safe is at the heart of what we do, and we want to help ease some of the challenging situations the Ukrainian people are enduring,” she said.
“The war has impacted every aspect of Ukrainians’ lives – from the ability to earn a living to accessing basic services and even just keeping in touch.
“We are glad to donate to help connect Ukrainian families and also wanted to take it that step further by helping provide the free medical support. We’re serious about helping these families navigate their way through a fraught and uncertain time.”
Unconnected.org chief operations officer Ben Mansell said: “Unconnected.org is grateful for Cover-More’s participation, which will enable more Ukrainians to receive much-needed medical support in addition to helping them get connected, providing a real lifeline to staying better informed and connected with loved ones.”
