A drug bust on a rave that took place aboard a newly inaugurated cruise ship has led to the arrest of a Bollywood superstar’s son.

Yes, this story has it all: fame, a rave, arrests, drugs and a shiny new cruise ship.

The bust took place on Saturday in Mumbai when India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) carried out a raid on Cordelia Cruises’ Empress, just two weeks after the ship’s inauguration.

NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede told India Today that seven to eight people were detained after the team seized numerous substances including cocaine, hashish and MDMA.

The Indian news outlet said Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, was among those arrested.

NCB had reportedly questioned Aryan Khan about the rave party that was taking place at the time of the bust earlier that day.

Cordelia Cruises posted a statement from its CEO Jurgen Bailom on Instagram denying the cruise line had any connection to the bust.

“Cordelia Cruises had chartered its ship for a private event to a Delhi based event management company,” Bailom said.

“Cordelia Cruises is extremely mindful of providing wholesome entertainment to families who choose to travel with us. This incident is contrarian and far from the culture that Cordelia Cruises represents.

“We, at Cordelia Cruises, condemn all acts such as these and will strictly refrain from letting our ship out for similar events in the future.

“Nonetheless, Cordelia Cruises is extending our full support and cooperating with the authorities.”

The line is touted as the country’s first cruise liner that centres on Indian hospitality and experiences.
