Australian cruise specialist retailer, Cruiseabout, has recently expanded its footprint, opening its third Queensland store in Westfield North Lakes.
The Sunshine State now accounts for half of the brand’s bricks and mortar presence, catering to the growing demand for cruising holidays driven heavily by Queenslanders. Cruiseabout general manager Brad Kennedy said one third of the brand’s customers are from Queensland.
“Queensland has been a strong market for the brand since day one, amplified by the launch of our Carindale and Mermaid Waters stores which were strategically placed in areas where we knew there was a high volume of travellers that love to cruise,” Kennedy said.
“These two stores are consistently high performers in the business. Most recently our Carindale store opened in December and broke brand records in its first two months of trading. The Westfield centre is a go-to hub for residents in the Moreton Bay Region, so equally we see our new store in North Lakes being a key growth driver for the business.”
Cruiseabout North Lakes team leader, Kate Moulton, joins the brand with experience and community knowledge, having led Flight Centre North Lakes for more than 10 years. She said she’s looking forward to leading a new team in a new store, but staying connected with the North Lakes community.
“North Lakes is an amazing community, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to combine my passion for cruising and love for the area by leading this brand-new business,” Moulton said. “Cruising is my favourite way to travel and I’m so excited to match my customers with the cruise holiday of their dreams, whether it be on the Duoro River, down to Antarctica or, my favourite, up to Alaska. Our team has more than 50 years of combined experience in the industry, so I’d encourage both avid and new cruisers to come in and meet the team!”
