Cruiseabout is on the hunt for a new head of marketing after Andrea Burgess announced she is leaving the business to relocate to Scotland.
General manager Brad Kennedy took to LinkedIn to seek her replacement, describing the role as a “great opportunity for someone to join a growing business that is making big waves.”
“As our legendary Head of Marketing Andrea Burgess heads off on a new exciting adventure, we are on the hunt for her replacement,” Kennedy said.
Burgess joined Cruiseabout in October 2023 and will leave Australia for Scotland in September.
“Call it a leap of faith or even just a very elaborate excuse to finally justify owning more than one jumper,” she joked on LinkedIn.
Reflecting on her time with the brand, Burgess pointed to significant growth since she came on board.
“I joined before the brand had even launched, back when we didn’t even have a website! Since then, our small but mighty marketing team has grown to four exceptionally hardworking and creative individuals, helping take the brand from a standing start to nine stores nationally and a loyal, engaged audience of cruise customers who keep coming back,” she said.
The departure comes as Cruiseabout notches up a string of positive results. In April, the specialist cruise brand recorded the highest employee satisfaction score across Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), with a 94 per cent result in its latest Great Place to Work survey – well above the national certification benchmark.
