Cruiseabout has recorded the highest employee satisfaction score across Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), with a 94 per cent result in its latest Great Place to Work survey.
The specialist cruise brand’s score sits well above the national certification benchmark and caps a six-week period that also saw the company host two leadership conferences at sea.
Cruiseabout general manager Brad Kennedy said the result reflects a deliberate focus on culture and team experience.
“You can’t fake a 94 per cent culture score. It’s the result of deliberately building something people genuinely want to be part of and then backing that up with experiences that bring the team together and remind everyone why they do what they do,” he said.
The brand held back-to-back conferences onboard Voyager of the Seas with Royal Caribbean International and Crown Princess with Princess Cruises, bringing together team leaders and assistant team leaders for strategy sessions and networking.
Kennedy said hosting the events onboard was intentional.

“Our people sell the experience of cruising every single day. Living it together, learning together and connecting onboard is exactly how we stay sharp and stay close to the goal,” he said.
Head of operations Kelly Neri said the conferences continue to grow in scale and importance.
“Each year these conferences grow. We have amazing people in Cruiseabout and time together as a group is something I am always grateful for,” she said.
Both events were supported by Royal Caribbean International, Princess Cruises, CruiseHQ, Scenic Cruises and Europ Assistance.
With its retail network expanding, Cruiseabout is now recruiting leaders for new stores in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as a leader for a new home-based sales team. The brand is also hiring experienced travel advisors across its existing network.
New leaders will have the opportunity to participate in FCTG’s Business Ownership Scheme, allowing them to invest in and share in the success of the stores they run.
“There is a lot of opportunity in this brand to grow and be successful,” Kennedy said.
“We are building something special and we want the right people to help us steer that ship.”
