Tony Archbold has taken a new role as VP sales APAC for Crystal Cruises less than a year after being made redundant as part of a Carnival Australia restructure.
The former Holland America Group executive who launched the company’s dedicated Australian office over a decade ago said he is excited to tackle the new role via LinkedIn.
“I am extremely excited to advise that I’ve been appointed Vice President – Sales – APAC for Crystal Cruises,” he said.

“I have the envious task of leading the re-launch and success of this much-loved and highly awarded brand to our trade partners and guests in the APAC region.
“Thank you to Jack Anderson, Crystal’s highly respected president, for having the faith in me to take on this critical role.”
It has been a tumultuous 12 months for Crystal Cruises. In January 2022 they collapsed after its parent company, Genting Hong Kong, ran out of cash due to the insolvency of its German shipbuilding subsidiary MV Werften.
Crystal was also involved in court proceedings in the United States when RCL and Silversea accused Crystal Cruises newly hired senior vice president of global sales Matias Andred Lira, a former Silversea executive, of breaching his contract and fiduciary duties and the Florida Uniform Trade Secrets act.
