In very sad news, The Travel Industry Hub (TTIH) has closed its doors after less than 12 months.

In a statement send to Travel Weekly, TTIH co-founder Richard Taylor said the decision to close the North Sydney venue was due to the continued uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s evident from the reaction of visitors to TTIH that a dedicated work, meeting and event space for the industry is a fantastically positive thing, and so closure of the physical space is a temporary setback for a project that has great opportunity when the time is right,” he said.

“I’m exceptionally proud of the part that TTIH has played in supporting the industry as the pandemic has unfolded, bringing people together.

“We held more than 150 online and in-person events during 2020 that reached many thousands of you, and I’m committed to continuing to deliver many more this year and support the wonderful people that make up our industry via The Travel Community Hub.”

Taylor said an “overwhelming” number of industry professionals had already joined The Travel Community Hub and to engage in the various forum groups. He said the online hub is also where webinars and other sessions will continue along with discussion, support and connections with peers.

“And, as for in-person events, watch this space, because these will continue at other locations,” Taylor added.

Taylor and TTIH co-founder Luke Crawford launched The Travel Community Hub last month, which industry professionals can join for a $49 annual subscription fee to access the community along with member-only webinars and a host of other benefits.
