Delta Air Lines has appointed Kelly Clive to Country Manager – Australia & New Zealand, effective as of Monday.

Clive will be responsible for leading Sales efforts in Oceania as Delta strengthens its presence in Australia and launch the first-ever service to New Zealand later this year.

Kelly brings over 20 years of experience across the airline, hospitality, and tourism industries.

During her 10-year tenure at Virgin Australia, Kelly held key roles with increasing responsibility and successfully played pivotal roles in delivering airline partnerships, business development strategies, commercial projects, and customer account management.

“As we announced a new service between Auckland and Los Angeles starting this winter, Delta focuses more on growing the presence in the Australia and New Zealand market,” said Mike Owen, Delta’s Managing Director, International.

“Her depth of knowledge and expertise in the local market, will assist Delta to forge innovative partnerships and develop strong teams in the market.”

Delta launched nonstop service between Sydney and Los Angeles in 2009, becoming the first U.S. airline to serve six continents, and will begin service between Auckland and Los Angeles on 28 October, as the only U.S. carrier to offer service on this route.

Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Tourism and Sports Management from Griffith University and is currently completing an MBA program at the Australian Institute of Management.
