Having just flown home on a long haul flight, we can’t tell you how grossed out we are about this story, but here goes.
A passenger onboard a Delta flight recently took to Twitter to express her horror when she unwrapped her blanket from the plastic cover, and snuggled in – only to find a poo nestled in amongst it.
A POO!
The passenger, American comedian Nicole Byer, posted a blurry photo of it on Twitter, tagging Delta Airlines and asking “how does that happen?”
Dear @Delta the grossest thing happened on my flight. I opened my blanket & there was a literal piece of shit. How does that happen? pic.twitter.com/D0rtJXJgL9

Due to the blanket being enclosed in the plastic wrapping, Byer said she expected it would be clean and fresh, but not on this Atlanta flight apparently.
Side note, who on earth poops in a blanket on a flight?! How desperate are you?! Ok, we digress.
Delta, per The Sun UK, initially responded by suggesting Byer alert a flight attendant on the plane, to which she responded, ““Are you kidding? Of course I told the flight attendant. I’m emotionally scarred and this is all you ask? THERE WAS S*** IN MY BLANKET!”
Delta has since launched an investigation into the claim after Byer “confirmed there was indeed s*** in the blanket.”
And in case anyone thought the pic was not of the best quality she added, “I would have taken a better picture of the crusty s***. But it was crusty s*** and I didn’t care to get close to it again.”
A statement released by the airline’s spokesperson Brian Kruse, per The Sun, said Delta was taking the complaint very seriously, but could not say if Byer’s claim had been verified.
“We are in direct contact with her, we’re working with her and we’re investigating the situation. We’re still working to find more information.”
Byer later tweeted the airline had since apologised and refunded her ticket, while also gifting her 50,000 free airmiles and vouchers for her ordeal.

.@Delta I mean what a gross customer to shit in a blanket… but truly how did an employee just fold it up and put it in a bag?

So far @delta has offered 400 delta dollars or 45,000 miles for me finding shit in my blanket. Which is wild bc Is a loyal customer.
— nicole byer (@nicolebyer) March 17, 2017
.@Delta I feel like that’s the amount you would offer for giving up your seat on an over booked flight or a seat not reclining.
