Destination NSW has previewed Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) last week for tourism operators and agents, ahead of the first passenger flights landing in October 2026.

Key Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) and Online Travel Agents (OTAs) joined the exclusive preview, which provided valuable insight into the terminal’s facilities and the surrounding visitor economy infrastructure.

Sydney’s new 24-hour domestic, international and cargo airport is in Western Sydney, Australia’s fastest growing and third largest economy.

WSI has confirmed four major launch airline partners—Qantas, Jetstar, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand. Flight schedules and information about ticket sales will be released in the coming weeks.

The familiarisation was designed to help partners prepare new itineraries and products ahead of the airport’s official opening. It forms part of Destination NSW’s ongoing work to equip the tourism trade industry with the tools it needs to promote Sydney and NSW’s growing visitor offering.

The new airport will play an important role in achieving the NSW Government’s goal of $91 billion of visitor expenditure by 2035. It will support vibrant and diverse visitor experiences across Greater Sydney and regional NSW by accelerating domestic and international visitation.

The NSW Government’s Western Sydney International Take-Off Fund, administered by Destination NSW, is incentivising airlines to fly new routes into Western Sydney International Airport.
