Dreamworld is bringing snow, ice skating and Christmas cheer to Queensland during the winter holidays with two seasonal experiences for guests – Winterfest by day and Christmas in July by night.
Running throughout the school holidays from Saturday 27 June to Sunday 12 July 2026, Winterfest will bring additional daytime family fun to the Dreamworld experience with an ice slide, roving entertainment and snow zones, plus paid extras such as ice skating and marshmallow toasting. Winterfest is free to experience with Dreamworld entry and offers a frosty twist on the traditional theme park experience.
When the sun goes down, Dreamworld transforms into a Christmas wonderland for Christmas in July, a separate, ticketed night-time event held on Saturday 27 June, Friday 3 July and Saturday 4 July 2026, from 5:30pm to 9pm. Across these limited nights, the park will come alive with festive lighting, Christmas characters, snow moments and fireworks, plus ice skating available to purchase, delivering a different after-dark experience.
As Australia’s biggest theme park, Dreamworld is known for bringing together thrill rides, family attractions, wildlife experiences and live entertainment all in one place – and according to Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong, this winter guests can expect an entirely new experience with the return of Winterfest and the launch of a Christmas in July night event.
“You don’t usually expect to see snow in Queensland, which is exactly what makes Dreamworld’s winter season so special,” Yong said. “Winterfest brings back those classic daytime favourites, while Christmas in July introduces an entirely new way to experience the park after dark.
“It’s the first time we’ve delivered a dedicated Christmas-themed night event like this, with festive lighting, snow moments, Santa and Mrs. Claus appearances and fireworks creating a completely different atmosphere once the sun goes down. We’re incredibly excited to bring something new to our guests this winter and can’t wait to see families embrace it and enjoy it.”
