In relieving news for Queenslanders with Easter plans, the state government has lifted the lockdown placed on Greater Brisbane since Monday.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced this morning that “Easter is good to go” for those affected by the snap three-day lockdown, with only one community-acquired case overnight in Queensland.
However, while Premier Palaszczuk said the lockdown, which ended early at noon, had been successful in keeping the movement of people and COVID-19 to a minimum, some restrictions will remain in place for all of Queensland until Thursday 15 April.
Everyone across the state must continue to carry a face mask at all times and wear it indoors, unless they have a lawful reason not to.
While people in Queensland are free to leave their homes for any purpose and can travel anywhere in Australia, gatherings in people’s homes are still limited to 30 persons in total.
Restaurants, cafés, bars and nightclubs can only open for seated eating and drinking, with no standing allowed, and hospitality businesses must keep an electronic customer register.
