The Ecuador Ministry of Tourism has delegated its tourism promotional activities in Australia, China and Japan to AVIAREPS, a global airline and tourism representative.

The move is part of the Ministry’s strategy to expand its promotional reach internationally and increase visitor numbers.

“We are honoured that the Ecuador Ministry of Tourism has entrusted AVIAREPS to represent them in Australia and Asia. We have worked closely and successfully with the Ecuador Ministry of Tourism in Europe in the past, and are extremely happy to now extend our relationship to implement various marketing and PR activities to further increase the number of visitors to Ecuador from Australia, China and Japan,” AVIAREPS Group chairman and ceo, Michael Gaebler, said.

In 2014, the number of international tourist arrivals to Ecuador was over 1.5 million people – an increase of 12.3% compared to 2013 visitor figures. Additionally, January 2015 arrival figures recorded an increase of 11% compared to January 2014 arrival figures. The economic impact achieved through tourism in 2014 is estimated by the Ministry at USD$1086.5 million.
