The Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) will celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2021 tomorrow with a live broadcast from the Connected Event Studio in Sydney.

Exploring the #ChoosetoChallenge theme, a panel of inspirational speakers will acknowledge the valuable contribution of women in business events and take its messages to a bigger audience across Australia.

The keynote will be delivered by social entrepreneur, businesswoman and advocate for women Simone Allan (pictured above). She is the director of mentor matching platform The Mentor Evolution and executive search consultancy Mondo Search.

Allan’s ‘true north’ project is the Women’s Resilience Centre, which brings together many initiatives that champion women’s health, sustainable long-term trauma recovery and holistic programs around mental health.

The EEAA has also secured a strong line-up of speakers to join the panel, including Stephanie Selesnick from International Trade Information, Marie Kinsella from International Exhibitions and Conference Group, and Peggy Reevell from the Australian Council for Education Leaders.

EEAA chief executive Claudia Sagripanti said: “We have taken our International Women’s Day event online this year to give everyone in our industry an opportunity to come together and recognise the incredible talent pool in our industry, and the ability to reinvent and transform.

“This year’s IWD event will bring together a panel of experienced businesswomen who shine in their work and their approach to their careers.

“We are delighted to have secured Simone Allan, a standout keynote speaker, along with a panel of leaders from various sectors of the business events industry.”

EEAA president Spiro Anemogiannis said the association has demonstrated “future-focused leadership” in helping to create a culture in the industry that fosters equal opportunity and recognises outstanding talent through recent board appointments.

“We will again continue our focus on corporate social responsibility with the support of two important charities, Fitted for Work and UN Women Australia, and we invite all attendees to make a contribution towards improving the lives of women in our community,” Sagripanti added.

The EEAA’s IWD event for 2021 kicks off at midday on Thursday 4 March, and will finish up at approximately 1:30pm. Those wishing to tune in can register here.
