Melbourne’s travel trade gathered at The Sofitel Melbourne on September 24, 2024, for an enchanting night of Taiwanese culture.
Taiwan, with its natural beauty, diverse culture, convenient transportation, and friendly people, is becoming a top choice for Australian travellers resuming international travel.
The evening showcased the island’s multicultural charm, featuring a captivating performance by Taiwan’s Amis Tribe and hands-on experiences creating traditional Tiger Lord pendants, coasters, floral tile brooches, and indigenous thread-balls.
The night’s guest-of-honour was Mr. Shih-Chun Kuo, senior policy officer of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center Melbourne. With infectious enthusiasm, Kuo extended an inviting call to explore the beauty and allure of Taiwan, encouraging everyone to experience the island’s unique charm firsthand.
Charles Attard of Alpha Tours is a seasoned Taiwan expert with 55 visits under his belt. His remarkable repeat journeys serve as a resounding testament to Taiwan’s unique charm, elevating it beyond a travel destination to a treasured haven of genuine warmth and enduring memories.
The evening also saw Taiwan’s Destination Management Companies (DMCs), China Airlines, and Taipei City Government presenting their latest products and offerings. Gannessan Suppiah, Taiwan Tourism’s AUNZ representative, expressed gratitude for the strong turnout: “We aim to share more of Taiwan’s essence and support the industry in promoting this incredible destination to travelers. The DMCs were all-ears to industry requirements, curating tailored experiences for the Australian market.”
