United’s director Australia and New Zealand, Alison Espley will relocate to Japan in April to take on expanded responsibilities under a new regional title of managing director Japan and Pacific Sales.
Speaking to Travel Weekly at the Visit USA annual road show yesterday, Espley said she was already transitioning into the new role following the departure of Matt Miller, who has moved on to another position within the airline, but in an airport focussed role.
Espley said despite being “very sad” to be leaving Sydney, she was “excited about a new adventure in my United career”.
The airline will soon commence advertising for Espley’s replacement in Australia, seeking candidates internally and externally.
