Explore Worldwide has announced the appointment of Emma Fehon as marketing manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Emma Fehon joins the AU/NZ team at a pivotal moment, as Explore celebrates record-breaking growth in the region. With the team doubling in size and a brand-new office in Brisbane, her arrival further strengthens Explore’s commitment to its rapidly expanding presence.
The appointment comes on the heels of Fehon’s remarkable achievements for Explore in the 2023-24 financial year. The AU/NZ team has already surpassed their annual target, achieving 58 per cent year-on-year growth and recorded their biggest sales day to date in early October 2024. The milestones reflect the momentum of Explore’s expansion and the growing demand for its small-group adventure tours.
She is a highly experienced marketer with an extensive background in tourism and travel across Australia, New Zealand, and international markets. Throughout her career, Emma Fehan has worked with some of the largest tourism groups, accommodation providers, travel agencies, airports, regional airlines, and e-commerce companies in Australia and New Zealand. She has also led global brand and marketing strategies for tourism operations in Canada, Singapore, and South Korea.
She has also held senior management positions in fast-paced environments, successfully guiding companies through rapid growth, an ideal match for Explore’s expansion in the AU/NZ market. A standout achievement was her leadership in launching a $24 million tourism operation in Tongyeong, South Korea, which drove record growth for the global business. Her recent roles include Marketing Manager for Cairns and Mackay Airports, Head of Sales & Marketing for Kimberley Experiences Group, and International Luge
Marketing Manager for Skyline Enterprise.
Emma Fehon said: “It was important to me to join a purpose-led business for the next step in my tourism career. I’m passionate about promoting responsible adventure travel and delivering unforgettable experiences for our customers. I’m excited to help shape the future of the Explore brand in this region and build a large regional marketing team to support our continued growth.”
Explore Worldwide regional director AU/NZ, Ben Ittensohn, added: “Emma’s impressive background in tourism and strategic marketing aligns perfectly with our vision for Explore. We’re excited to welcome her to the team during this growth period for us, and confident her work will drive continued success and strengthen our partnerships with the travel trade.”
