Fiji Airways has signed on as a partner for the Fijian Flying Circus, supporting the contemporary Pacific production’s first Australian tour later this year.
The circus – produced by Suva-based performing arts organisation VOU – will perform in Darwin, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, combining circus artistry with storytelling drawn from Fijian myths, legends and folklore. Brisbane dates fall within the Brisbane Festival programme (4 September – 4 October 2026).
As part of the partnership, Fiji Airways will screen VOU’s circus content across its in-flight entertainment system, giving the production exposure to passengers travelling to and from Fiji.
The airline will also continue its broader support of the VOU Foundation, which funds tertiary scholarships for young Fijians pursuing careers in the performing arts.
Fiji Airways MD and CEO Paul Scurrah said the tie-up reflected the carrier’s role as a cultural ambassador. “We don’t just fly people to Fiji – we fly Fiji to the world,” he said. “The Fijian Flying Circus captures the spirit and energy people experience when they visit Fiji, and we’re proud to stand alongside these artists as they take to stages across Australia.”
VOU founder and director Sachiko Soro added that the partnership gave Fijian artists the opportunity to share their work with new audiences while supporting pathways for emerging talent at home.
Fiji Airways operates direct services to Fiji from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns, Canberra and the recently launched Gold Coast route, with onward connections to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, Asia and North America.
