Fiji Airways is celebrating the arrival of two new ATR aircraft to its fleet, strengthening its extensive network and providing enhanced connectivity across Fiji and the South Pacific.
The first of these new ATRs arrived late last year with the second aircraft following on January 5th, 2025. This expansion supports Fiji Airways’ ongoing efforts to improve domestic capacity and better serve regional communities, particularly in Northern Fiji.
The two ATR 72-600 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of 68, will be primarily used on Fiji Airways’ regional routes, including those servicing the Northern and Western divisions of Fiji. Over time, additional ATR aircraft will be introduced to further enhance capacity and enable more frequent and efficient services on key domestic routes such as Nadi-Suva and Labasa.
This expansion will significantly improve connectivity and accessibility across Fiji’s regional network. This move aligns with Fiji Airways’ broader strategy to enhance our Nadi Hub through connectivity and improve travel options for passengers, particularly those connecting between domestic and international services.
“These two new ATR aircraft are a significant investment in Fiji’s domestic connectivity,” Fiji Airways CEO managing director Andre Viljoen said.
“They are an important part of our commitment to providing comfortable and efficient travel options for our passengers and offering greater connectivity between our islands. This fleet expansion will also help us continue to meet the growing demand for domestic travel, ensuring that we can provide increased capacity where it’s needed most.”
Fiji Link’s new uniforms
In addition to the fleet expansion, Fiji Link, the domestic and regional subsidiary of Fiji Airways, is excited to announce the launch of new uniforms for its staff, which are now aligned with the signature Fiji Airways uniform. The change is part of the airline’s effort to further standardise the company’s branding across all divisions, ensuring a consistent, professional, and unified look for both Fiji Airways and Fiji Link team members.
The uniforms reflect the vibrant and modern image of Fiji Airways, while incorporating the Fiji Link’s young cultural heritage. This change is designed to create a cohesive visual identity for all staff members, from front line to the cabin crew, and is aligned with the airline’s strategy to improve customer experience and enhance the overall brand image.
“We’re excited to introduce our new Fiji Link uniforms, which bring us closer to our goal of a unified brand,” Viljoen said.
“The standardisation of our uniforms across Fiji Airways and Fiji Link reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and professionalism, ensuring that our crew represents the highest standards of service, and our passengers enjoy a seamless, consistent experience.”
The new ATR aircraft and uniform changes are part of Fiji Airways’ broader efforts to elevate its service standards and customer experience, as well as to reinforce the strength of its brand as Fiji’s national carrier.
