Finnair is kicking off a new chapter in travel between Europe and Asia.

Tickets are jumping on sale for the airline’s first long-haul destinations, to be served with next-generation Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.

Finnair is the third worldwide to launch the new aircraft type, which raises the bar for passenger comfort, environmental performance and operational efficiency.

It is the first airline worldwide to operate the A350 on scheduled services to China, and Shanghai will be served daily from October 25 2015, followed by daily services to Beijing from November 21 2015.

Finnair expects to receive the first four A350s by the end of this year, with plenty more to come in the near future.

The new aircraft’s spacious cabin features large panoramic view windows and comfortable seating in both cabin classes. All Finnair A350s will be equipped with Wi-Fi, advanced pure air filtration, higher cabin pressurisation, gradual changes in LED lighting to make easing into new time zones easier, and stacks more.

The A350 brings a greater than 25% improvement in fuel efficiency and operating cost, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of Finnair and its passengers.
