Got clients ready and rearing for a holiday but don’t want to brave the crowds in Europe? Look no further than Kuala Lumpur.

Whether you’re a shopaholic, foodie, culture fiend or nature lover, Malaysia’s cosmopolitan, fashionable capital seamlessly blends its historic past with modern trends, offering everything from huge shopping malls, tall and glitzy towers and luxurious hotels all the way to mouth-watering cuisines.

And with almost 40 flights per week across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth currently on sale as part of Malaysia Airlines’ Great Getaway Sale, now is definitely the time to go.

But if you need any further incentive, read on for our top five reasons why KL is the place to be right now.

Amazing food

Malaysia has some of the most delicious food in the world and in KL you don’t even need to book into fine dining restaurants to experience it all.

The sprawling hawker and street-food stalls are what everyone is talking about. So, if food is your passion, book into a flavorsome food tour of the city exploring day/night market stalls and feast your way around this spectacular city.

Most popular among them are Bangsar Sunday Market, Kampung Baru Night Market, and Taman Connaught Night Market.

A shopper’s paradise

From renowned international boutiques and luxurious shopping malls to local artisanal goods, KL is a shopping mecca that will not disappoint.

Explore Berjaya Times Square for great bargains and family fun, high-end shopping mall Starhill Gallery Kuala Lumpur for a little luxury, and Egyptian-themed shopping mall Sunway Pyramid in Bandar Sunway for a truly unforgettable retail experience.

Elegant architecture

Kuala Lumpur is home to the world’s tallest twin towers, the Petronas Twin Towers standing at 88 storeys high.

A trip to the top is well worth it as the impressive and beautiful city skyline will draw you in and leave a long-lasting impression.

Family fun

KL is the perfect destination for the whole family with its budget-friendly accommodation options, markets, street stalls, happy hour and thrilling water parks that both kids and adults are guaranteed to enjoy.

Our favourites include Berjaya Times Square Theme Park right in the heart of the city, SuperPark Malaysia and Titwangsa Splash Park.

Gateway location

KL is the perfect gateway destination connecting you, not just with the rest of Malaysia, but right across southeast Asia and onwards to the Northern Hemisphere. So, if you’re passing through, why not get out of the airport for a couple of days and make a point of exploring one of Asia’s more agreeable big cities?

But if you need any further tempting, why not take advantage of Malaysia Airline’s current Bonus Side Trip Offer, with free domestic flights to a multitude of the country’s favourite destinations including Sabah’s Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi and Penang and make it a trip to remember.

Getting there

Recently voted Asia’s best airline at the 2022 World Travel Awards, the full-service Malaysia Airlines offers 38 flights per week across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, with flights gradually increasing to 54 by Christmas.

Even better, flights are currently on sale until 24 October, with economy airfares starting from as little as $778 ex Sydney, $767 ex Melbourne, $800 ex Brisbane, $612 ex Perth and $731 ex Adelaide for travel until 31 July 2023. Prices are subject to availability and currency fluctuations.
