Carnival’s Australian Team Adds First International Rep

Carnival Cruise Line has welcomed a new team member to its Sydney-based office to focus solely on international cruises.

Angela Wilson has become the first local Business Development Representative for Carnival’s international sailings, with responsibility for driving awareness and promotion of the US-based Carnival Cruise Line fleet among Australian travel agents and wholesalers.

“With Carnival Horizon launching next year and new 14-day sailings to Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean on offer there are more opportunities than ever before for Australian agents to sell a Carnival cruise, so I’m looking forward to helping to increase agents’ Carnival sales,” said Wilson, who hails from Expedia.

We say Bula to the new Trade Partnership Manager-Australia

Tourism Fiji has announced the appointment of Jason Sacriz as Trade Partnerships Manager- Australia, commencing this week.

Announcing the appointment, Tourism Fiji CEO, Matthew Stoeckel said this newly-created role underlines the importance of trade relationships and reinforces the determination of Tourism Fiji to deliver the very highest standards of service to the industry.

With extensive experience in trade partnerships and marketing, in his new role, Sacriz will focus on maintaining and developing relations with key wholesalers and retailers and all operators in the travel industry.

Sacriz brings a wealth of experience to the role, with close to 20 years in travel and tourism. He has worked in a range of marketing and product development roles and held senior positions in destination management with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Macau Government Tourist Office and Destination NSW. Sacriz has also held management roles in the wholesale and cruise sectors.

AAT Kings appoints senior sales manager

AAT Kings has announced the appointment of Margot Windenburg to the role of Senior Sales Manager of North America.  Based in Seattle,Windenburg will be responsible for all AAT Kings’ trade sales and marketing activity in the Americas.

With a wealth of experience in both marketing and sales,Windenburg has specialised in the Australian and New Zealand market having held previous roles at Down Under Answers and Anza Travel. Margot joined AAT Kings from her most recent role as Director of Sales at Clipper Vacations, a provider of Pacific Northwest travel.

She commenced her role on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Small Luxury Hotels of the World appoints PR partner

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has announced the appointment of Sydney-based leading luxury PR agency BLACK Communications as its PR partner for Australia and New Zealand.

BLACK will be responsible for communications for the brand’s portfolio of over 500 luxury hotels in over 80 countries, focusing on the brand’s ‘Independently Minded’ platform.

Mark Wong, Vice President Asia Pacific for SLH, said, “We currently have seventeen member hotels in Australia and New Zealand, and are looking for more independentlyspirited hotels which matches our brand to join our exclusive collection, offering varied destination choices to our members”.

Tank Stream Hotel appoints new BDM

Sydney’s newest international hotel, The Tank Stream Hotel, has appointed Nigel Myers as their new Business Development Manager.

Previously, Myers was Guest Relations Manager at the hotel.

Myers brings a wealth of hotel experience to the new BDM position, having previously worked in management positions at a range of Sydney hotels including Pullman Hyde Park, Travelodge and Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport.

Serko Strengthens Executive Bench

Serko today announced the appointment of Charlie Nowaczek in the role of Chief Operating Officer.  This new appointment brings international experience to Serko and signals a renewed focus on operational efficiencies.

Nowaczek will report directly to the CEO, Darrin Grafton, and enters the COO role with more than 25 years’ experience as both an operating executive and management consultant, specialising in business transformation and operational effectiveness.

Over the last decade he has been COO for a number of technology start-ups in the US and Canada, including most recently, Kinetic Social, a social data and technology platform partnered with Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, where he was part of the founding team. Prior to these entrepreneurial endeavours, he was a senior consultant focused on the delivery of complex business change programmes for U.S. and European clients.
